Carrying the Aggie Spirit

Posted on Friday, May 19, 2017

I have served The Association of Former Students for the past two years as a general member, a member of leadership, and next year President of the Aggie Network Student Ambassadors. There, I have witnessed first hand how over 50,000 former student’s donations impact every Aggie student through funds set up to promote: thousands of student organizations, Aggie Muster, Fish Camp, the Career Center, Supplemental Instruction (SI), Parson’s Mounted Cavalry, and even the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band performances at away football games. Each and every one of those events helps influences every student’s aggie story. It is my goal for every student to know how much The Association of Former Students does for the current student body, despite what their name is. In fact, it is for our generous former students who donate gifts of time, talent, and treasure, which The Association harnesses, that ensures that the six core values, traditions, and experiences on campus are continued to be passed on from our current student body to class years to yet come. The more the student’s know how they are effected, the more likely they will continue this trend and pass back what a former student passed forward to them during their time here in Aggieland.

To every Aggie who supports the Aggie Network through gifts of time, talent, and treasure:
Thanks & Gig 'em.
