Kimberly Cross

About Kimberly

Kimberly Cross is a senior political science major and English minor raised in La Porte, Texas, but born in Honduras. While at Texas A&M, Kimberly satisfied her zeal for public service through a local church and a women's organization Aggie Southern Darlings. This past summer Kimberly embarked on a mission trip in Hungary, where her love for a diverse sphere grew. This past spring, Kimberly interned at Hernandez law firm, which sparked her passion for using policies as solutions within the immigration realm. Kimberly also loves to travel and see different cultural perspectives that structures everyday lives. In addition, Kimberly studied abroad with Dr. John Robertson on the Danube Summer Institute program in central Europe. Her interest in foreign policies and government immensely developed from this experience and she is thrilled to continue her knowledge this fall in Berlin, the powerhouse of European politics. Eventually, Kimberly aspires to be a lawyer and find useful solutions for her clients which will help shape their lives.

Nicholas Petricka

About Nicholas

Nicholas Petricka is a senior International Studies student with a minor in German. Interested in international organizations such as the European Union and NATO, he has studied in Heidelberg and Mannheim alongside his time in College Station to immerse himself in an international environment and improve his proficiency in the German language. Nick is very excited to have an opportunity to intern with the Institut für Europäische Politik and hopes to gain invaluable work experience and organizational perspective. In his free time, he enjoys studying Krav Maga and Muay Thai, traveling, and cooking. After graduation, he hopes to either pursue a masters in International Relations or follow his family footsteps into the world of naval aviation.

Gretchen Theis
U.S. Commercial Service

About Gretchen

Gretchen Theis of Plano, Texas graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in international studies concentrating on international commerce and minors in business administration and Spanish. During her time at Texas A&M, Gretchen was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority where she served as a New Member Educator and led 90 new members through the initiation process. She also helped coordinate different fundraising events while pairing with philanthropic partners to support the mission, “Building Strong Girls”. Additionally, Gretchen spent the summer of 2017 studying abroad in Puntarenas, Costa Rica and Havana, Cuba through University Studies Abroad Consortium. This experience brought new cultural perspectives and use of the Spanish language that confirmed her desire to continue learning about other countries and how they affect and interact with the United States. She intends to grow more proficient in Spanish and is looking forward to interning in Madrid, Spain, where she will be able to work hands on with business interactions between the United States and Spain through the U.S. Commercial Service. She feels this internship will be a valuable experience as she plans to pursue a career in foreign aid.
