Have you ever wondered how you can pursue public service and not directly be in politics? I have a true passion for nonprofit work as well as health policy, but knew I did not want to be on capitol hill. Here are 7 reasons you might want to pursue a nonprofit internship in DC.
- You can find a nonprofit in DC that focuses on your area of interest – there are thousands of organizations covering any interest!
- You will be the go to researcher for all of their policy needs.
- You will never have to answer the phones!
- Everyone in the office is just as passionate as you about the cause and mission of the organization.
- You can wear business casual clothes every day.
- Ask to work on your specific wants
- You will attend all the fun and informative events they need – many are at Capitol Hill so you can still see all of the beautiful buildings!
What’s your dream internship?
