Internships start careers. Begin yours today!

Through PPIP, undergraduate and graduate students actively participate in the policy process at the state, national or international level. Our credit-bearing internship program is offered year-round, allowing students to participate in the fall, spring or summer semesters. Whether interning in Washington, D.C., Austin, or one of our various European locations, students walk away from their internship semester with a better understanding of their individual strengths and professional goals.

Most importantly, our experienced staff works with students every step of the way to help provide a meaningful learning experience.

Texas A&M University recognizes internships as an integral part of its curriculum, enabling students to participate in structured, supervised learning experiences off-campus. The Public Policy Internship Program (PPIP) strives to provide out-of-classroom opportunities which help students build on and enhance previous coursework.

As a premier professional internship experience, the Public Policy Internship Program (PPIP) establishes high standards for our interns. Please review the eligibility requirements based on the geographical location for our internship sites.

Getting an internship during fall, spring, and/or summer semester requires diligence and planning. Application deadlines are early for our internship program and the process might require some time to get everything out before the deadline. In addition, it is important to know what to expect through the application through placement process.

There are so many undiscovered careers and lifestyles that I was not aware of before my PPIP experience, and the people I met while working as an intern at the U.S. Embassy in Spain revealed the limitless opportunities that exist on a global level.
